Jujitsu Session Dates:
June 19th – August 19th
*All classes will be cancelled the week of July 3rd through July 8th due to the holiday

Kids Jujistu (Ages 5 – 8) Tuesdays from 5:00 – 6:00pm, Saturdays 9:00am – 10:00am
Kids Jujistu (Ages 5 – 8) Tuesdays from 6:00 – 7:00pm, Saturdays 10:00am – 11:00am
Jujitsu Juniors (Age 9 – 15) Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:00pm, Saturdays 10:00am – 11:00am
Adult / Teen Jujitsu (Ages 13+) Tuesdays 8:00 – 9:00pm, Saturdays 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Jujitsu Class Descriptions:

Jujitsu Juniors (Ages 8 – 15)

Danzan Ryu is a character development program where students are taught how to be a leader and role model in their classes. Danzan Ryu is dedicated to the development of our children. Our youth program lays the groundwork and instills the values necessary for your child to succeed as a teenager and adult. Promoting the time honored principles of respect, discipline, perseverance, self-control and integrity our martial arts program is the template in which your child will gain the tools to handle life’s changes. Additional fees would include uniform (optional to purchase).

Adult / Teen Jujitsu (Ages 13 and older)

When translated into English, Jujitsu means gentle, pliable or flexible art. The gentleness of the art is expressed in the execution of the technique. Danzan Ryu Judo/Jujitsu training is systematic and comprehensive Japanese martial art developed in Hawaii. It involves learning to roll and fall (Sutemi), to move and balance (Tai Sabaki), to escape from grabs and manipulate joints (Yawara), to throw & project (Nage), to submit an opponent (Shime), to counter and transition (Oku), to reverse damage and heal injuries (Seifukujitsu), as well as many other in-depth areas of focus. Also includes a system for women’s self defence. Additional fees would include uniform (optional to purchase).

 
 

Angel Lopez, Jujitsu Master (1st Degree Black Belt Danzan Ryu)

Jujitsu
Angel began his journey in the martial arts 2010 and has since gained the rank of 1st degree black belt in the style of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu (An art born in Hawaii and is considered Americas first and original mixed martial art). Angel gained certification through the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation and has dedicated his life to the development of man/woman in mind, body and spirit. Angel is the owner and head instructor of his school, Lokahi Danzan Ryu, LLC. Besides martial arts he is also a member of the Chicago Fire Dept. where he has been performing his duties for the community as a firefighter/EMT since 2000. Angel is also an adult leader and counselor with the Boy Scouts of America. He continues to develop his skills and knowledge to this day and is currently undergoing special training in the healing arts of Danzan Ryu in the form of Pacific Asian Restoration Therapy. “Often the most difficult opponent, the greatest problem that had to be overcome lest the warrior be defeated by it, was the warrior himself”.(Kyudo)
