KIDS YOGA AND DANCE CLASSES

Kids Yoga
Date: December 7th – January 17th
Day/Time: Mondays 4:30 pm – 5:15 pm (Ages 4-8) 
Day/Time: Mondays 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm (Ages 9-13) 
 
We’ll explore movement through a variety of playful postures, play games that promote awareness and community building, and work into breathing exercises and meditative techniques to foster a sense of tranquility and self-regulation. Yoga is the perfect activity for guiding kids into healthy growth both mentally and physically. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!
 
Mommy and Me Yoga
Date: December 7th – January 17th
Day/Time: Fridays 10:00 am – 10:45 am (Ages 2-4)
 
Parent and Tot Yoga will create a space where parent and tot can connect with each other while developing gross motor skills and creativity. Play, imagination, routing, language development, and naming and allowing emotions will all be taught and explored throughout this class. We will work on complex physical skills such as skipping, jumping, yoga postures, and contact between parent and child. Moms and dads welcome!
 
Classes will be led by Kimberly Vihon, our kids yoga instructor.
 
Beginning Ballet
Date: December 7th – January 17th
Day/Time: Mondays and Tuesdays 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm (Ages 3-5) 
Day/Time: Mondays and Tuesdays 4:30 pm – 5:15 pm (Ages 6-8)
 
This beginner level activity is an introduction to classical ballet. Instruction includes the five positions, floor and barre work as well as basic dance combinations. Introduce the basics of ballet and tumbling. Dance lessons help build strength, self-confidence, and respect for self and others. We will learn basic techniques such as tendu, plie, and bourree as well as work on coordination and rhythm.
 
*The following items are required before the first class: Girls need a black leotard and pink tights. Boys need black or navy shorts and a white t-shirt that is fitted enough to not get in their way when moving. All children need ballet shoes and hair must be out of the face. Ballet skirts are optional. Must be potty trained.
 
Class will be led by Katherine Barkley, dance instructor.
 
Beginning Hip Hop
Date: December 7th – January 17th
Day/Time: Wednesdays 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm (Ages 6-8) 
Day/Time: Saturdays 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm (Ages 6-8) 
Day/Time: Wednesdays 5:15 pm – 6:00 pm (Ages 9-13) 
Day/Time: Fridays 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm (Ages 9-13)
 
Explore the creative movement styling of Hip Hop dance. Instruction will focus on the basics of hip hop technique, styling, and choreography. Students will be challenged to learn dance combinations and dance in small groups to build confidence and coordination. Dance lessons help build strength, flexibility, confidence, and respect for self and others.
 
*The following items are required before the first class: Both girls and boys need loose clothing that they can move in and gym shoes. Hair must be out of the face.

Beginning Contemporary Jazz Dance
Date: December 7th – January 17th
Day/Time: Tuesdays 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm (Ages 9-13)
 
Explore Jazz dance and build strength and flexibility in this fun dance class. Dancers will learn the basics of jazz dance technique through activities and dance combinations. Emphasis is placed on rhythm, loco-motor skills, and coordination.
 
*The following items are recommended before the first class: For girls, a leotard and tights of any color and for boys, black or navy shorts and a white t- shirt. All children need jazz or ballet shoes. Hair must be out of the face.
